Nancy Dendy is a true Michigan artist, she has painted and lived in the Detroit area since childhood. Nancy attended the Society of Arts and Crafts (now the College for Creative Studies) in Detroit, where she majored in Fine Arts concentrating in Painting.
Over the years Nancy has studied extensively and ventured into both fine and commercial art. Her representational paintings have been a part of many juried exhibits including the Scarab Club's prestigious Silver Medal Show.
A lifelong interest in paint people has led to numerous portrait commisions including a portrait of Father Solanus Casey of Capuchin Mission in Detroit. The portrait was used for the cov4er of a book about his life and also used to make 250,000 religious badges which were distributed throuout the world.
Recently her paintings were used to decorate the entrance of the Bishop Gallagher/John Salley Mansion as a part of the biennial Detroit Symphony Designers Showhouse event.
During her travels Nancy has painted in the countries of Great Britain, Singapore, Taiwan, and Japan.
